Here is some good news for District fans. Trackwork to Wimbledon is complete. Now building the SWT depot and related trackwork on the mainline. will the team ever extend the line further than Gloucester road like to st jame's park or whitechapel?

We talked about extending the route to at least Whitechapel so as to include Aldgate Junction which gives you lots of scope for scenarios with AI Circle Line trains running on the inner circle to Edgware Road. Main problem here is getting the track diagrams onto decals for laying with RW Decal. I'm not able to do this myself so I'm relying on Jimi to help out in this respect. If the decals are made I will lay the track, I have the gradient information for the whole of the Circle Line. So yes. it could happen, but nothing is definite yet.

ha ha eagle eyes there. Yes, it should be six car, one was left behind at High St Kensington uncoupled. It is not finished yet, so textures will likely get changed in due course . The cab is outstanding.

The latest news which will excite you as much as it did me is that backdated trainsim is now a member of the Virtual District team and is working extensively on the route to help us towards our next release. We are extremely pleased to see him join our team as he is much admired by all of us on here. He has created some outstanding content which is some of the best work I've seen in TS. Check out his website here: backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/A word about the next release though. We have always tried extremely hard to keep the required content for our route to a minimum, The London to Brighton is one such route but at the time we were building the District within Railworks this was a default route, so it wasn't our fault that now it is a requirement. The Isle of Wight has always been a requirement because we used its track work and conductor rails which was one of the first to be rendered in 3D. The Oxford to Paddington, was another default route at the time too. So excuse us for adding yet another requirement for our next release and most of you will guess what it is , but this will raise the bar on what we've achieved to another level, so I still believe that if you look at what is required to run our route it is still chicken feed compared to most freeware out there, where you need literally tens of payware routes and dozens of freeware ones. Installation routines are usually a nightmare with these too and don't even think about scenarios. That is just off the scale and we avoid that like the plague. Our goal is to have you in charge of a train with the minimum of fuss, not spend a month getting it to work. Please bear that in mind before you moan about required content. Here we are nearly ten years on from the start without badly needed assets which someone has spent a lot of time creating, testing, and so on, and needs to be paid for their time. That is entirely as it should be. I applaud them and spend my money on their content willingly.

I know that our initial release was fraught with issues, but that was entirely my fault. The community stepped up to the plate and helped me get it sorted out , hopefully the next release will be a simple RWP package which will install over what you already have.

Is the requirement London to Aylesbury?

At this stage< I can't say because nothing has yet been tested and approved as fit for use. What I can say is that London Underground assets are a feature of the route which we need to progress from our basic release. Draw your own conclusions from that, but this is some way away from the release so watch these boards carefully for more explicit news about required content in the future. No need to rush out and buy anything just yet.

The C Stock is in development still and we do know about the JT LA route. Watch this space..........We are eagerly awaiting JT's new S stock train also, which looks extremely good to these eyes and with the sort of functionality we build into our stock. It will have also have somewhere else appropriate to run within a short time. All will be revealed eventually.

I am liking how the team are getting more skilled in development as production of what you guys do goes along, Wimbledon Park looks amazing so far but there is much more work to do I suppose, and the New Track for the original route looks sexy! can we possibly get reworked sounds and textures? when can we expect any new releases? before 2019 I hope

also saw a ss of what looked like Ealing Broadway I can see new speedboards and I was thinking it would be more realistic if just the new Track you are using is used for all track to make the route not look odd at certain areas still I congratulate the team the quality has sky rocketed

The new updated version will include the new track work over the entire route as seen in the screenshot above so there are no odd "old " areas. We now have a prototypical LUL signalling system on the LU metals and also updated UK Pro LED on the NR sections. New speedboards are all part of this infrastructure upgrade. As always we never say when it will be released other than when its ready, but the whole team is cracking away so we are not resting on our laurels.

More goodies from Richard's workshop, a couple of screenies at Southfields showing some readjustments to the model and some grabs of Wimbledon Park. I drove up Arthur Road every weekday evening on the way home, so I know this building like an old friend. Richard has nailed it exquisitely. On the money. His models have something that a lot of 3D modellers lack. In a word "soul". It's there in everything the man creates for us. 20180723174020_1 by Dr_ Eddie, on Flickr url=https://flic.kr/p/28ndYD5] [/url] 20180723173952_1 by Dr_ Eddie, on Flickr wpark (3) by Dr_ Eddie, on Flickr wpark (4) by Dr_ Eddie, on Flickr wpark (5) by Dr_ Eddie, on Flickr wpark (6) by Dr_ Eddie, on Flickr wpark (2) by Dr_ Eddie, on Flickr

Trackwork and platforms have now been laid to Edgware Road terminus. It is now under test and being signalled, but I'll start a new thread about that once there is more concrete news about it.

No changes to the trains except for C-Stock development and some other heritage stock in development. :-)
