I am amazed - fantastic work!
But I'm also one of these irritating people who points out the tiniest niggles...
Firstly, can the Battery loco be run off of electrified lines? I ask this as I never managed to get the old one to do so!
Secondly, is the F4 HUD usable with any of the stock at all? I ask this as I like to use the F4 HUD when I'm enjoying the view outside of the train, so seeing the cab controls is more difficult.
Finally, No.9 Probably shouldn't have a nameplate in the grey livery, unless your research proves my general rule to be incorrect! Reminds me that I really need to find my Heljan one in the grey livery - No idea where it's gone.

Thank you!
Tongue in cheek...
1. Not sure I understand the question. TS doesn't understand battery power - only steam diesel and electric. So we need electric. It's designed to be run on the District route, and as far as I know we don't have a way to turn off the juice overnight. So we rely on suspension of disbelief :-)
2. Real operators don't have HUDs and spend most of the time looking outside, although mostly through the front window. You may find it's more important to pay attention to the very frequent signals than the controls. Or the scenery. Use a HUD if you wish. We only recommend using the F3 HUD as we went to a lot of trouble to give you a realistic cab and controls, and it works nicely with F3. The F4 tonka toy stuff is unrealistic and tends to block the view of half the cab.
3. Correct. Mike noted to us that #9 did not get its nameplate replaced post WW2. He also noted that rivet counters would likely notice and point it out :-) The grey paint was done simply as a nod to Mike's recollection of #9 as a shunter, not with intent to be a precise replica.

The nameplate present is down to me.
The grey livery is only a repaint, not a new seperate model. The plate from the original Sarah Siddons model is a 3d item that's part of the model and cannot be removed. Rather than just painting it over and having this odd looking coloured block in the middle of the loco, I thought I'd just give the actual loco's name back.
EDIT: just tried painting over it in grey and the letters "Sarah Siddons" appear underneath because they're 3D.

This looks brilliant! It is nice to have some proper LT stuff in train simulator with an equally nice route. A few months ago i found a thread on this forum with R stock in Train simulator, Is there any more news on this. Another question i would like to ask is, Firstly There is a fault with the injectors on No.23 and are you fixing it (It might just be a problem on my install) and secondly Are there any more livery's planned for No.23 such as, LT red, Metropolitan and district (Semi Fictional) and, although its not underground related, Cambrian, I would like to no this because i am thinking of making these reskins.

SER235 class Hello.
We'll have a look at 23's injectors. Not sure there are going to be any more liveries for it. This is the original cab-less A Class tank and by the time they received London Transport livery, they had received cab roofs. So it isn't to me at least really true a representation.
There was an R49 stock yes. Unfortunately there is some modelling work still to do that Richard hasn't been able to complete because we've kept him busy with building station models. So it won't make it to this instalment, but I'm sure it will be revisited when a plan is drawn up for the next phase.

Work in progress and something new for the route. (Ignore the bench. Something of more appropriate scale and shape has replaced it since this was taken).
As a part of Virtual District Phase II, we have included *some* of the Piccadilly deep tube from Baron's Court "pipe" through Earls Court to Gloucester Road. Just to see if we could. So you'll get the experience of driving a 73TS in its natural habitat, if only for a modest distance.
All credit to Richard for our first deep tube station model, and to Xavier for the great screenshot, and for the very realistic station lighting. Totally different atmosphere compared to the District cut-and-cover tunnels.

EB 73TS ex-Rayners Lane, and a WB D78 to EBY wait as the Standard Stock heritage train leaves ECMDTW at the start of a special run (heritage scenario).
Later in that run, at Turnham Green waiting for a departing D78 ahead to clear the track section.
Met #12 in the cut-cover world to ERD, testing the new cab lighting.
Battery Loco about to enter service after hours. Testing the cab light.

In the second Image is that a brand new bridge asset?

More stations and places that are maybe not seen from the train...
Stamford Brook entrance on the EB side. Newspaper?
Ravenscourt Park on the WB side looking east.
Standard Stock emerges from under the remains of the Studland Road Jct. viaduct
More of the viaduct remains, looking EB towards the HAM underpass entrance
Preserved architecture and signage at Barons Court
West Kensington and the pub next door, looking EB. Ashfield House is visible on the right just past the station.
The entry roads at Lillie Bridge Dpt. looking EB. The underpass to/from ECT below, and NL lines over the girder bridge. ECT1/2 and Empress State Tower in the background.
Lillie Bridge Dpt entry roads from W Ken and OLY looking WB. Ashfield House on the left.
A view no longer possible. Earls Court 1 as viewed from the ECT stairs. And the train too.
A Tardis on Earls Court Rd? Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway.
More historical facade at Gloucester Rd shows the lines origins

The bridge asset referred to earlier is one of Richard's custom LU bridges made to fit for Turnham Green, Stamford Brook and Ravenscourt Park stations. These are the same as in V1 but the bridges have been adjusted so that no parapets foul the train as they did in V1. Alan Thomson drew our attention to this in his first look video of the District.

Sorry, heritage special. You want the one behind us... A famous place somewhere near Bayswater. Or more accurately the back of it. At ERD3 about to head back west
The other part of West Brompton
What Richard refers to as the "Golden Palace of Light"
From Stamford Bridge to the Fulham Broadway platforms
Lineside work at Parsons Green
The line of demarcation on Putney Bridge
Ed's white taxi spotted at East Putney
You will find quite a few Easter eggs if you wander around a little
The smallest station entrance?

I feel like the platform's width is way too small

Post by Jimi on Aug 3, 2019 13:42:13 GMT
Agreed - we're working on it. The Picc deep tube is an experiment that wasn't originally intended to go into Phase II, and it is in part a learning exercise. The tracks location is very close to spot on, but what you can't see is a passageway behind the wall in between the EB and WB platforms that may be a touch too wide, thus reducing platform width.
We are very close to release so we will do what we can. There may be an improved version in a later update, so we don't hold up release of the other 99% of the District route.

This looks spectacular, and virtually complete! Should we be expecting an imminent release sometime this month? I can’t wait haha!

We tend to prefer folks don't ask questions about dates, as we don't have an answer - there is no schedule. That said, you can reasonably conclude we're close. We are in process of finalizing the last station (Gloucester Rd Picc), and are constantly testing every part of the route. The documentation is done (Route Guide and Stocks Operator Guide, about 50 pages each) but there is some scenario work to finish and test. And we need to finish pre-release installer and operations testing. So you will all know when release is going to be very soon after we do :-)

My question was mainly just to see if it was close enough to release to have a schedule. Hope all the testing is smooth and no major issues are found and I’ll look forward to the update over the coming months!

Thanks for your understanding response. We do have goals -- and a plan. At any one time, including now, all 5 of us are each busy on something and are also making sure we don't get in each other's way. After just about 2 years work, we are close - and we can feel it. But we are also focused on quality, and hopefully not letting any dumb bugs get through :-)
And not meaning to tease by showing more screenshots. I was more interested in showing places you might not see unless you wandered around. There is a LOT to look at, including over 20 custom built landmark buildings and locations, besides all the bespoke stations. We hope it will keep you all busy for a while :-) Thanks!

The amount of work everyone has put into this project is crazy, and I imagine this update will make it one of the best routes in TS, especially with how much stock will be included. Hopefully I have all the requirements for the update, I presume you have a finalised list so would it be possible to post that? Thanks

I believe we have nailed down the pre-requisites, but I'll leave it to Xavier to answer if we are able.

I can draw up a definitive list if desired but was hoping it could be done in a more official post once the last modelling item is done on the route.

Very well - we adopt Xavier's advice as he is largely responsible for the kit/installation procedures side of things, and is best able to answer related topics. And as he points out, we are still working on details.
Please wait for the official post that will relate to release information. Please don't ask when :-)
