Did what you said, now it is holding the AI train back because the track is set to go to bay platform 4, so the train won't budge to go any further. Now I'm being held at ED151, is it because I'm much faster then the AI?

Actually, the switch is set to go to platform 3, but the train won't go in, but there is no reason for it to stop, no signal is holding it back and the path is clear.

We haven't seen this problem on this scenario. But, I will run it now just to check. You will be quicker than the AI, that is expected, so that isn't the problem here. Could you get some screenshots of where it is happening. Which trip are you actually on ? The final trip should put you in P3 then you stable in Triangle sidings. Have you got the recent update by DTG installed which fixed the broken signals on the London to Brighton ? Are you online in Steam or offline.
You can check this by going into 9 view ( track map ) and seeing if you see any signals showing aspects or just numbers.
If you have no signal aspects showing in 9 view, you need to go online in Steam and download the small 11MB update. This glitch recently broke our route and all scenarios, so it is an important update.

I just ran this with no problem at all. On the final trip when you are at Olympia and have changed ends, after the passenger loading expires you should get a message saying Last trip to High St. In the tunnel before ECT you will get held at a red signal before the Olympia road merges with the main road. A D78 will go past while you wait. He goes into P2 and soon you get a green over yellow and can proceed into P1. When you leave ECT P1, the other train you are sharing with will be arriving into P4, so there is no way he can hold you up at HSK. I left ECT , got a green with RI into P3 and dropped pax, changed ends, green starter and away into Triangle sidings. Here is the screen grabs to prove it. In most cases like this we have found 99.9% of the time, it is not a bug, but a problem with the users installation. I would bet money you have a problem, not only with this scenario, which is fairly simple, but many others too. It doesn't take much to go wrong to break a scenario. We literally test our scenarios to death. They are rock solid. We don;t release them until we can't break them. Check the things I told you in my previous post. We will help you to sort this out, but its time to play detective. Note the order of pics is round the wrong way above , the last two got swapped over.

I'll run the scenario when I can, most likely after the weekend, but I've had it happen to me two times. It's the only scenario I have problems with, I've been able to complete all other then that one. Really like how detailed the route is and how well it runs!

Strange, because it is fairly simple and does not put any high load on the resources. Which version of the route are you running ? I'm presumimg you are on Phase 2.1. If you upgraded from 2.0 to 2.1 with the patch update, there is no harm in downloading the full 2.1 installer and trying a complete re-install. I'm just wondering if that scenario has somehow got corrupted. It has happened. Thanks for your feedback about the route, we appreciate that.

Can you get any of the cab handles to move ? Or is everything locked ? If nothing moves except one or two items, did you have any previous versions of the VDL installed and if so which version ?
I suspect its an old input mapper left behind from Phase 1.
For example if you hit the A key, does the deadman handle go down ?

Hello!
I have been trying to install the Virtual District Line for the past few days, but keep having issues with the installation. I have all the required DLC, and have all the required DLC for scenarios except the LU Heritage Pack. When I try and download it, the installer reaches 100%, when a command log opens up, and goes through all the assets installed. It says that some directories are unable to be installed, and access is denied to certain things. After this is done, it says "Installer temporary files removed", before saying press any key to continue. Once I have done this, the installer closes and says that the installation is done. When I open TS2020 up however, only the D Stock is in game (and doesn't work, with nothing for quick-drive being available), with no scenarios working either.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks, LazyGuy222

Have you got any anti-virus programs installed ? More importantly, are you installing with Administator privileges ?

You need to disable Norton while you are installing the VDL. I, too had this problem with Norton. If you are running Win 10 like the rest of us in the team, you can do without virus protection. Windows Defender is built in and you don't need the aggravation that Norton is giving you with this.
If, you still want to keep Norton, just disable it for 15 minutes whilst you install the VDL. Trust me, it will install properly then.
Right click on the installer and choose Run with Administrator privileges.
When its finished, enable Norton again and go and enjoy. Please report back here is this resolves your issue, so other folk can see.

Sadly, this did not seem to work. The game still doesn't properly load up in game.

When you run the main VDL installer, the command window appears towards the end of the installation to do some copying. It should have paused before finishing and you would press any key to close it.
If you scroll up the command window when it pauses, what exact things are you not having permission to complete?

Looks like you have a read/write problem with your Railworks folder. Are you sure you don't have administrator privellages by default? There are user and administrator accounts. You may be the only user of your computer but you might be logged into a "user" type account rather than an "administrator" type account.
Anyway, there's essentially three ways you could restore read/write privellages.
1) Manual.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common Right-click on the "Railworks" folder. Untick "Read-only", and click apply. Confirm that you want to apply changes to all folders, subfolders and files.
2) If you have TS-Tools/RW-Tools installed and set up, you can go to "Options" and then click on "Make all RW Files Read/Write".
3) Using the command window.
Open the command window by going to the search button in the Windows start menu and typing "cmd.exe". Right-click on it and select "Run as administrator" When the window appears, paste this into the command line:
ATTRIB -R "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\*.*" /s /d
Run the code and wait for the window to disappear.
Try any of these and then run the VDL installer again and see if all the messages you saw before disappear and/or everything is showing in-game.

Unable to create directory - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RScott\LondonTransport\InputMappers 1125 File(s) copied Removing installer temporary files Attempt 1 Access is denied. Access is denied. Access is denied. Access is denied. Access is denied. Access is denied. Installer temporary files removed Press any key to continue . . .
Tried options 1 and 3.
Option 1 threw up random errors for me, despite the fact I am definitely an administrator (I checked my profile settings) Option 3 gave the above again.

Ok, go back to your Railworks folder and inside, is there a folder called "Transfer"? If so, there should be two folders called "Assets" and "Content". Cut/copy both of these folders into your Railworks folder, overwriting when prompted.
I'm surprised that you got errors from the attempt to make your folders Read/Write, which suggests you've got more fundamental issues with permissions on your user account. I would consider looking at means to give your account more administrator privileges so that you have more control.

Hi
It turns out I was an idiot, and after making the folders read/write, I forgot to switch Norton off again, during the install. I just did that, and everything now works. Thank you ever so much for all your help, and I will now enjoy the VDL!
Thanks again, LazyGuy222

First of all can I say what a fantastic route this is - definitely one of the very best, if not THE best.
I've played a number of scenarios without any problems, but I can't get "Easy Does It TO53 - GRD-EBY" to work. When I start the scenario I get a message that says "Driver Service 1 at Lat 51.49473 Long -0.18448 - can't find destination - platform 51"
I've tried re-installing a number of times, but always get the same message.
I've checked all the other scenarios, and they seem to be perfectly OK. I know you've put an awful lot of work into this, so it must be me - but I'm blowed if I can find what I've done wrong.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Tim

Tim, it's us not you. Problem found and fixed. We're figuring a way to get it out to everyone without a full kit rebuild. It's likely Ed can host the scenario folders and files in a Dropbox. We're working on that now.
All that happened (no idea how) is the player train was not in position at the berth mark in GRD Platform 1. It was almost out of the platform, and the first task in its list was to load pax in P1. Which it could no longer do. P1 (internal name platform 51) was behind the train and not accessible. I moved the train back into the platform and forced a re-calc of its timetable and saved the scenario. And tested the start and initial tasks. All is well now.
Thanks for reporting this!

Thanks for the bug report, as Jimi has said somehow the 2.2 kit build stopped this scenario working. During the small fix needed he also found the Heritage Railtour with the Standard Stock scenario folder was somehow buried inside the Easy Does It folder.
So there are two fixes bundled here into a 7zip file. In the zip you will find 2 scenario folders: f609882b-... = Easy Does It ff8a1b63-... = Std Stock heritage Tour
Download the 7zip file from the DropBox (link below) and unzip the folders/files into your <TS>/Content/Routes/df59cee1-........./Scenarios folder overwriting existing files.
We're hosting this on Ed's DropBox until we can build a new hot patch and new installers.
