End User License Agreement (EULA)
The Virtual District Line (VDL) route and accompanying train stocks have been created and distributed as freeware (or in specific cases as donation-ware in support of LUL) by the Virtual District Team (VDT). Despite being free this is subject to an End User License Agreement.
The route has been developed to a high level of detail and accuracy; however it is for entertainment purposes only and is not intended to be used for road training or familiarity for real world train operators. Some features and details of the route scenery, trackwork and signaling have been outdated by modern changes; however the route is accurate on a historical basis.
By downloading and installing this route and its contents you implicitly agree to adhere to this EULA, as follows:
• This route and all its VDT-authored content, assets and train stocks (referred to in total as the VDL Route) are the intellectual property of the Virtual District Team (VDT).
• The VDL Route is distributed from specific sites designated by the VDT, and may NOT be uploaded to any other sites for purposes of distribution without the express written consent of the VDT. If you run a hosting site and wish to host our route, please contact the VDT via our web site so we can discuss.
• The user is granted use of the VDL Route and its train stocks for their own personal use and enjoyment.
• The various train stocks are distributed as part of the Phase II VDL Route and may not be distributed separately.
• Should a user wish to use items of VDT/VDL train stocks as part of a different route scenario, the user should direct their user to our full route kit to download and install so as to obtain the required train stock.
• The user may use our VDT-created route assets as part of building their own new or extended route with the permission of the VDT. However such a route must be released as freeware and we require that they acknowledge our work in their route credits.
• The user may make modifications to the route and train stocks (e.g. re-skinning stock, or extending the route), provided these modifications are for their own personal use ONLY. The uploading (to hosting sites), distribution or sharing of such modifications is prohibited without the express written consent from the VDT.
• The user may NOT de-compile or reverse engineer the route or train stocks in any way.
• The user may NOT distribute or modify the route, assets or train stocks, or upload any part to the Internet for payware or freeware use.

The user is encouraged to join the VDT web site and to join in discussion, ask questions of the members and team, suggest future work or modifications, report bugs, etc. The VDL community and fans have had an impact on VDL Phase II, and many of the features were implemented as a result of our users’ suggestions.
The user is also encouraged to author and share VDL scenarios using the unmodified route and stock as originally distributed. If other 3rd party stocks are required, these should be clearly listed, along with their source. Such scenarios may be freely distributed from other hosting sites (e.g. Alan Thomson Sim).
The VDT will make every effort to correct any issues or bugs in the route that are reported to the team, but is under no absolute obligation to fix them. Please note that a bug report of “It’s broken” is not useful input. A report like “Signal XYZ in scenario ABC is preventing my train proceeding at time xx:xx” helps us begin to diagnose.
