I was looking on the backdated train sim page and the phase 2 requirements involved addons I do not have. However, I do have those for the current virtual district and the virtual district line itself. Is there a way to get phase 2 and the C stock when it comes out without needing to buy any more addons?
Thanks, and sorry if this has been asked already elsewhere

Well, the worst thing that can happen is you might get a couple of milk bottles here and there, if we've used scenery items from those products. I'm suspecting you might not have Great Western Mainline ( the original Railworks Default Oxford to Paddington route ) for example. This means you'll be missing Paddington Main Line station. No biggie unless you go into free camera at Paddington Circle Line, whereupon it will look a bit empty opposite the station entrance in Praed St. More important is you do need the Just Trains route Chiltern Mainline with Aylesbury addon or the standalone London to Aylesbury route. Without this the route will not function at all. We use their track and signalling. Next most important is London to Brighton. We use a lot of their building assets. likewise Isle of Wight.
Bottom line is if you had version 1 running, Phase 2 will work if you have at least the Just Trains route/s, but not at its best unless you have everything else. Best to wait until there is a sale to get the other requirements.
The installation of Phase 2 completely overwrites the Version 1 so you won't be able to run the new C stock train on your original route. All the folder structures for Trains has been changed from version 1.

Without that you have no chance unfortunately. No track, no signals.

Sorry to restart this thread, but does the route use the JustTrains > Common Library in the editor? If so, you can use the route with Western Mainlines. If not, ignore that! Thanks, -Peter

We know for certain they're included in both editions of Chiltern, I don't own WML so I don't know.
And there are other things out of the commonlibrary that were used in Chiltern that appear in the VDL route. Again, I'm not sure specifically what is and isn't shared between Chiltern and WML.

Since the common library is installed when you buy LA ar CML it doesn't matter if the assets come from WCML. The LU signals are ONLY included with LA or CML + LA ext.

I haven't looked into this very deeply, but the route editor brings up things in the CommonLibrary as saying "(CL)" in parts of the titles - which to me says "Chiltern Lines" or "Chiltern Line". Thanks, -Peter

What's the WCML here? I assume you meant WML for Western Mainlines. So if I downloaded the route WITHOUT Chiltern routes, I wouldn't have signals - OK. Thanks for clarifying that. -Peter
