I know I'm a bit late to the whole VDL party, but I just wanted to say - Well done! You lot have really done a lot of work on this route compared to the original (and even that was good) and it looks amazing now. I bought the London-Aylesbury route just to get the VDL to work and I can say I am more than pleased with my purchase. I also bought the S8 Advanced and downloaded the ATS S7 reskin to make an authentic set for the VDL. I have travelled on the District a little bit (although only between Paddington and Tower Hill), and now I can do some of my journeys in Train Sim. Thanks for making that possible. Do I understand how most of LU works? No. Do I understand enough to get me through basic scenarios? Yes. Sort of. Can I easily find out what I want to know about the District Line and LU practices through your provided manuals? Yes. Definitely. And I will definitely be reading them through over the next however long until I learn it. Thanks very much for producing such an amazing route. We need more and more LU in the sim and this is the pioneer LU route for TS. Thanks, -Peter

Thanks for the feedback Peter, I'm glad you didn't regret purchasing the JT L-A route, and I can thoroughly recommend the Metropolitan Line/ S7+1 bundle. . . It's quite probable that the Met developing team raised their game after seeing the VDL phase 2. Their route was looking quite bland during it's development, but the finished product is quite outstanding, although there is room for more weeds and lineside detritus of the type that we see on all LU routes, during the course of travelling. It is rather clean in many areas, but the modelling is excellent, particularly in the depiction of stations. Something we have always tried hard to excel at with the talents of Richard Scott at our disposal. We will be using their extended library of signalling and assets in the next Phase so the Met will be a requirement of the future in any case. Meantime enjoy the both routes and please share any scenarios you create for the VDL with us.

You are very welcome. I did have a look at that bundle, but I thought the L-A would be a better option (it was cheaper! ). I hope that you are right regarding the Met developers seeing the VDL and learning from it. That would show payware developers that freeware developers for Train Sim really can do something good and produce amazing routes and influence bigger developers. I'll definitely look into getting the Met if it becomes a requirement for any more of the VDL. It would give me another place to run the S8! I will also try and make some scenarios for the VDL - of course. It's sort of my thing - some people make reskins, some make patches, and I make scenarios. -Peter

A big Hi and Merry Christmas to all, especially the developer of Virtual District Line.
I have been using TS 2016/17/18/19/20 on an occasional basis for some time, and have only just discovered this route of the London Underground, and I totally love it.
I was born and grew up in Northfields, my wife the same, and I played in Blondin Park all the time watching and listening to the comings and goings at the depot, and my wifes house backed onto the Piccadilly Line by the eastbound track next to Northfields depot, (Burnham Way) so the line is so evocative of my life up to my early twenties. I got quarter fare on the tube as my father worked for British Rail, and I travelled everywhere on the tube during the 50's 60's and some of the 70's, and know the line very very well, and the representation of the District line is superb, but I must echo others in requesting, please please, the Piccadilly Line out to Northfields and Boston Manor at least, if not even further to Hounslow West, the old terminus, or Heathrow.
Thanks again for your work, I am now in danger of losing my flying licence with X-Plane as I drive the tube so much!

Thanks for the feedback mouse. It was a team that built the VDL though, not a single person. Rest assured there are others on the team that would like to take the Piccadilly line out further as well as underground into town and beyond. We do have plans to extend the south circle too, so it's difficult to prioritise the areas we work on. One day............... just a bit of a wait until then. Enjoy the route till then, only 12 years of work has gone into it so far. Plenty of time to add more :-)
