Just beat me to it Sad there was no sound, but visually I was pretty impressed. And I was very happy to see working next train displays on the platform! That is a very nice feature. Now we just need them to have working announcements.

They put a trailer for the Bakerloo Line on YouTube about an hour ago:
It doesn't have any gameplay sounds but it looks amazing!

Ahhh well, they've just confirmed on stream no announcements at all. Apparently they have no system to make it work, despite WoS doing it 9 years ago!
While I'm still mostly looking forward to the route, I now feel like a huge part of the atmosphere will be missing.

So no announcements...............as expected, it's not a simplistic process at all. The amount of infrastructure we had to put in the VDL route and the lua coding we had to use to get it to work was not at all trivial. Literally thousands of hours of work plus an arm and a leg for the voice-over artist, which they would have had to use as well. So no big surprise for me. Now, will they implement proper LU multi-home signalling. That is a real biggie IMHO.

Just found this on YouTube:
Even though it’s still a WIP, it looks very impressive.
I get the impression from the video that multi-home signalling won’t be included - they’ve spent so much time (to their credit) developing stuff like the next train station displays that this might have been too much to get done prior to launch. Hope I’m wrong!

If that's so driving to schedule is going to be fraught with difficulties.

Just watching the Bakerloo Line stream, motors sound like they come from the 455/EPB.

They mentioned at some point during the stream the sounds aren't as good as they wanted, such a shame they couldn't get them right.
They have done many things well, but SO many things feel like they just couldn't be bothered. It looks amazing, it sounds okay and it plays like a normal railway not the Underground. They even confirmed once that speed limits will work like normal Train Sim where the rear of the train has to pass the board.
Why even bother including an Underground route if you aren't going to do it properly? I hate the fact nothing from Dovetail ever feels like it's living up to it's potential.

On a bit of a tangent, I'm wondering what DLCs we might see for this route? There can't be many - Engineer's and Heritage stock, maybe some LO stuff but I can't say that prospect excites me like a '38TS (Obviously!), Battery or even Std Stock would.

I watched the video in its entirety (1 hour plus) and at first I wasn't impressed. Something didn't feel right. But I gradually warmed to the whole thing. I concluded it's meant to be a game, not a sim (the scoring is a big giveaway), and viewed in that light it's worth the $26 to me to drive the Bakerloo. The scoring system may even provide reasonable feedback as to how well I'm driving. The sounds are OK - not stellar. They don't kill the suspension of disbelief and there's some nice little details included. The train's physics seems a little off. Acceleration, even in rate 2, seems feeble above about 20mph. That train ought to behave closer to a C69 or even 73TS but doesn't. If the tractive force fell off above 25-30 I'd feel better. The brakes seem too powerful. The examples shown of using EP Max would easily unseat passengers. Entering the station at 30mph and grabbing Brake 2, then reducing to Brake 1 at mid-platform ought to work. But there's enough there to keep me amused and entertained, so I pre-ordered on Steam. I felt Matt's demo sold it well. It's not TS and the VDL and the accuracy we strive for - it's a different thing, objectives, etc. and in that context I feel it works. And maybe works well.

That is a very good summary, and yes probably best to just look at it as a game not a sim (I made a similar point on the Dovetail forums yesterday while in rant mode).
TSW2 was always going to be a purchase for me as soon as I saw it had a LU line in it. Hopefully they will make some improvements to it as time goes on, especially the promised service number increase.
As for DLC for the route I'm not sure we'll ever see any. Going by what DTG have done with Train Sim World routes so far they definitely do not go down the heritage trains route, and while they could add a battery engineering loco I find it unlikely as it would not slot neatly into the timetable mode which is the big thing with TSW over TS.
Of course as more 3rd party devs start making stuff for the game we may see something else appear suitable for the Bakerloo.

Visually, I was quite impressed with the detail of the route, the train and more importantly the track. It appears they have gone to quite some length to get the 4th rail looking right. ( It actually looks like our 4th rail ) particularly over junctions. And it doesn't seem to have the horrible pop up texture glitch that killed TSW for me. I literally couldn't stand watching that for more than a few minutes. Predictably the sounds are awful, which is what we were expecting, and for an LU route that is going to kill the illusion to a large degree. DTG may see sense and fix that once the shells start coming in. But its an LU route, and for that we should thank them.

Not quite LUL, but Rivet Games posted (on their Twitter page) a TSW screenshot Yesterday of what can only be the inside of an Island Line Class 483. Previously they also posted a screenshot of Smallbrook Lane overbridge.
I wonder, then, if to imagine a 1938TS DLC for the Bakerloo may not be so far-fetched.

On the Rivet Games forum they said the screenshot was from their test route, not the finished one. They know it's wrong but said they liked the overall look of the screenshot so used it anyway. I'm very much looking forward to this add-on, and considering how much effort Rivet always put into their DLCs I have no doubt it will be very good. Edit: As long as all things go to plan I will be streaming the Bakerloo this Friday night.

Yeah and looking at the road map maybe they are porting things over from Ts and then making them better.

I somehow think that it is rather more complicated than that. TS and TSW2 have precious little in common. Some individual scenery models are, it appears, able to be ported over (I noticed the old Kuju church a few times on the current TSW routes) but not a great deal else.

Pretty sure only scenery is able to be ported over, but trains themselves it would defiantly be TSW to TS as it is quite difficult to change low-poly models to detailed high-poly models without remaking the whole thing; but the lowering the poly's on models is much easier.

The HST they recently released for TS Classic looks like it was based off the model they used for TSW, so there's a good chance it's possible to port things forwards if you can port them backwards

Even though I haven't played TSW2 much since buying it (there are only so many times I can drive end-to-end on the Bakerloo) I have been keeping up with mods. Some of these might be of interest to other players on here: Sound mod for the 72 Stock (I'm sure someone who knows more about the stock will be able to tell if this is an improvement).
Mod to allow the cab doors of the 72 Stock to open, although you still cant climb in through them you can jump down. Also a mod on the page to brighten the train interior.
Mod that adds real world posters to the Bakerloo stations alongside the fictional ones.
Mod that adds general station announcements to the Bakerloo stations.

Has anyone tried the Isle of Wight addon and what did they think of it?
Looks good functionally but I've watched a lot of videos and I'd thought that even though it's a 2-car unit you'd hear a lot more motor sound as opposed to quite loud bogie/track rumble sound. Maybe I'm too used to the LTM's 1938 stock which is more original than the IOW 483s. Also I've never been on the Island Line so maybe it's spot on, I don't know.
