Hi Jimi/Ed, I believe you are pitching it just right for the new builder and the person who has had a go beforehand. If you can expand on the techniques for all of the A.I. traffic ideas you mention , you will be giving us some much needed insight. Mike

Hi All Just worked my way through the module 🙂 no problems and the scenario ran as planned 👍 My only difficulty was moving the scenario marker at the start! 🙄 Very well explained and all the steps were easy to follow and made perfect sense. I suspect that when it comes to adding AI it may become rather more taxing... 🙂 My only question is should we be doing this in 32 or 64bit version as I’ve read that it can be unstable in 64bit... Looking forward to the next module 🙂 Regards Alan

Thank you all for getting involved. Your innocent inquiry came at a timely juncture Alan. We had been considering for some time that introducing quick drive into the route, had perhaps, diluted peoples expectations and desires for creating specific scenarios. This document hopefully will inspire a few old hands and hopefully, many fresh new hands to dip a toe into the Scenario Editor and see how much fun it can be ( when things do what you intend ). You never stop learning and a few of you might be able to teach us old dogs a thing or two, in due course. Johnny's feedback is here:
Hi Eddie,
Just read everything you’ve done so far. It is genuinely exceptional.
A few pieces of feedback. Please don’t take these as criticisms!
On page 7, you use the word Dbl. I would suggest using double instead; amongst other things, I’ve worked in printer technical support, reprographics and exam invigilating and have received questions that defy even the worst cases of stupidity, including somebody asking whether A2 is larger than A3 immediately after I told her that it was twice the size!
“What is Dbl?” “Where’s the Dbl button” etc...
I would also suggest adding the apostrophe to Earl’s Court across the one or two mentions - this doesn’t really matter but I would personally use the apostrophe.
Lastly on Page 26:
The sentence “...and the scenario begins...” has no full stop
Third paragraph down, the sentence “Experience shows that signal system...” is missing its the.
This document is well written, explains things in very simple terms and will prove very useful to anybody and everybody in the train sim community.
Looking forward to reviewing the rest of it as it is created!
Cheers
Johnny

We're back to working on this after a break to address some route fixes and edits, mostly to signals. One addition I've long wanted to do is to add Stencil Indicators (mini theater displays) above any multi-path shunt signal so you know the route that is set. This also mimics LUL practices. I've been able to do this since JT updated the Metropolitan Line to include these signals. Phase III has been updated so you will see these additions when that version ships. You will need to update your Met route to the latest version to see these however. Because of the size of the route and the number of depots and sidings this is a large body of work.
So the next sections will discuss AI traffic - the various types or purposes, timing, meets, re-using an AI train, and how to spawn a train where you want it keep the active train count manageable by using portals.
Another thing you may with to re-read, for reasons of improving scenario realism, is the section in the Stocks Operator Guide on how to number trains (car numbers, set formation, etc.). Pages 45-46 of that Guide describe how-to in detail.
We will keep you informed as to progress...
