We're all fine. We've basically had a year's hiatus where we all decided to do other things.
At the moment Jimi, Eddie and Mark are working on a collaborative project between ourselves and another developer which has meant effectively freezing the route as it stands. More news on that later in the year.
I've been on standby, keeping support open for Phase III and also tending to my own personal projects.

Yes, not much has been posted on the news board, and, as Xavier has said we've been working on something ( with an NDA )that will be very welcome news to all members on here when it launches. So there is a hell of a lot going on behind closed doors. Once again if its quiet on the boards, there is much going on in the VDL world, nevertheless.

Not related to the route, but more personal info. We had record cold and wind chills here in New England last night. Atop Mt Washington here in New Hampshire it hit a record wind chill of -109F!
As I sit here near to Manchester NH at about 8am local time the temperature is -13F and wind chill -27F. That's -25C and -33C respectively. You do NOT want to be out in this. Exposed skin gets frost bite very quickly.
It's supposed to warm up to a balmy 15F later today and 45F on Sunday. Nuts.

I have been checking regularly, I get NDA's stop any meaningful discussion of future plans until later in the year, but I just found myself wondering what "later in the year" might mean, could we narrow it down a little, perhaps to the season, or the quarter, then I won't keep feeling compelled to log on to see if today is "later in the year" (I mean technically it is but you know what i mean)
I still love this route and still engage with it regularly, trains on the circle line have been doing some very strange things...

I don't think we can be more specific than later in the year. I think we're seeing the end in sight for this project but when that end falls is down to the larger developer we're working with. The speed at which this project has progressed is not as quick as may have been hoped but that's largely out of our control and has involved making sure that both us and the other developer are on the same page. Though I'm only providing outside support to this project, with Mark/Eddie/Jimi right at the forefront of it, I am not idle and have kept busy with projects as a solo developer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I will keep checking in, because all of you produce such outstanding work and I and the whole community are really grateful.

And thank you for the interest and inquiry. Xavier summed it up well. I can only add (vaguely due to NDA) that dev and test has gone well, although progress is sometimes glacial. We are still here and very active.

Just wanted to add my thanks to the development team for such great work (and have just registered now so that I can say it!) - I'm looking forward to news of the next version too when you are able to share it.
